An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, ambitious general manager for the newest addition to the CoDE Pod Hostels group, opening in Edinburgh Summer 2019.

CoDE Pod Hostels

CoDE Pod Hostels offer high quality accommodation in a combination of both double and multi-share Pod bed rooms. Our newest location just off The Royal Mile, will consist of 200+  beds as well as common kitchen and social areas, all designed to the highest standard and in keeping with the historic building we occupy. This will be our second site in Edinburgh, with our Rose Street location consistently being one of the top-rated hostels in the city across all websites.

You will have the chance to be part of the final stages of opening up this new building and truly put your own stamp on it. We’re looking for somebody wanting to take on this challenge, who is as passionate as we are about making sure these high standards are maintained and pushed even further as the CoDE family grows.

Who you are

  • Demonstrate previous management experience within the hospitality industry/hotel industry
  • Show previous experience of managing, developing and motivating others
  • Be efficient, organised, ability to prioritise your workload and multi-task
  • Be able to work quickly in a sometimes high-pressure & fast paced environment
  • Be a true people person, putting the customer at the heart of everything you do

What you’ll do

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with our operations, reservations and finance teams, take full overall responsibility for the day to day running of the hostel
  • Manage staff members-Including hiring, training, rotas and development
  • Oversee the operations of the FOH, Housekeeping and maintenance teams
  • Work within budgets to achieve and exceed targets and goals
  • Manage guest concerns
  • Organise social events and activities for our guests, always ensuring the sense of community and welcome that we strive for in all our hostels
